However, Midwest City requires a local contractor trade license, and any work involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or roofing requires a separate state license from the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (CIB). Handymen can perform general carpentry, painting, drywall, and similar work without a state license, but must comply with Midwest City's local licensing and any applicable building permits.
