๐ฅ The Mountain Forge: Colorado Founders Retreat
June 25โ28 ยท Jefferson, Colorado ยท 16 Guest Spots
This is not a conference. It is not a vacation weekend. It is not a sit-and-listen event.
-
The Mountain Forge Founders Retreat is a small, structured, high-trust mentorship retreat for handymen, tradesmen, and small-business operators who are serious about building better businesses.
This Colorado event is intentionally limited to 16 guest spots so we can keep the room small, the conversations real, and the work concentrated. Over the weekend, weโll be diving into the stuff that actually moves a business forward: pricing, systems, scheduling, hiring, marketing, AI tools, communication, customer handling, workflow, and the personal discipline it takes to operate like a professional.
-
This event is free because of the generous sponsorship of Quo, formerly OpenPhone โ a business phone app that lives on your personal cell phone and gives your company a professional business line without carrying a second phone.
If you appreciate opportunities like this, thank Quo by checking them out and considering them for your business phone system. You can click HERE to check them out.

๐ฅ Why this retreat exists
As a small operator, most of us work alone and never really come into contact with others who understand what it is that we do. Most small operators do not need more motivation. They need clarity, better systems, better decision-making, and the right people around them.
This weekend is designed to put serious operators in the same room so we can help each other troubleshoot real problems, sharpen our businesses, and walk away with a stronger plan than we came in with.
Come prepared to work on your own business.
Come prepared to help other people work on theirs.
-
๐ง How the weekend will work
This will be more structured than a casual campout or hangout.
After each meal, weโll move into a focused group session where we tackle business topics, common challenges, and practical lessons as a room.
After the group session, weโll break into smaller groups of 2โ6 people for deeper troubleshooting, brainstorming, mentoring, and accountability.
The goal is simple:
Eat together. Think together. Break out. Solve problems. Repeat.
-
โ What weโll be working on
Expect serious conversations and practical breakdowns around:
Pricing and profitability
Scheduling and workflow
Business systems
Hiring and employees
Marketing and content
Customer communication
Phone systems and professionalism
AI tools and automation
Jobber/workflow-style operations
Property manager work
Getting unstuck and moving forward
This is not a lecture marathon. It is a working room.
-
๐ Who this is for
This retreat is for:
Handymen, tradesmen, and small-business operators
People who want to grow through better systems and better execution
Operators who are willing to be honest about what is not working
People who can contribute to the room, not just consume from it
Anyone serious about building a cleaner, stronger, more professional business
-
๐ซ What this is not
This is not:
A party weekend
A vacation rental hangout
A passive seminar
If you come, come with questions, goals, and a willingness to help your brothers.
-
๐๏ธ Lodging situation
This is an Airbnb-style lodging setup with beds available, but not every bed is the same.
Some sleeping arrangements may include:
Standard beds
Simple bunks
Foldout couches
Shared sleeping spaces
The setup is more private than a barracks-style bunkhouse, but some spaces are still shared. Plan accordingly and come with the right attitude.
-
๐ณ Meals
Meals are provided starting with dinner on Thursday and ending with breakfast on Sunday.
We will not be accommodating special diets.
If you have specific dietary needs, allergies, restrictions, or preferences, you will need to provide your own food or work with Ray in advance to accommodate without needing a whole separate special menu.
-
